The specifics of the Thracian settlements in the area of Samokov do not presuppose visually observable remains above the ground level. The dwellings used to be wooden and earthen structures which can hardly be noticed in the stratigraphic layers. The stone architecture of those times is unknown here. The settlements were temporary and non-durable which once again proves that they used to be created where ores were extracted and iron was made, and after that they would be moved to other beds of mineral ores.
